Leicester's Drinkwater, Burnley ace Ings, Leeds skipper McCormack in line for award

The Football League has named the shortlist of players who have been nominated for the Skybet Championship Player of the Year award.

Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater, Burnley striker Danny Ings and Leeds United captain Ross McCormack are all in the running for the 2013/14 gong after stellar seasons for their respective clubs.

Former Manchester United youngster Drinkwater has been a star in midfield for the Foxes, who sit seven points clear at the top of the table, ahead of Burnley.

Ings has turned into a goal machine for the Clarets this term, scoring 19 league goals for a total of 24, while McCormack has netted 23 in the Championship for the Whites who sit 15th on the tier two table.
