Leicester City have turned down an approach from Everton for Steve Walsh.

The Toffees are keen on having the Foxes' head of recruitment at Goodison Park and reportedly enquired about the prospect of having him as their director of football.

However, the Premier League champions rejected their advances according to Sky Sports.

Walsh was the man behind the inspired signings of such players as Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante and Everton feel his presence would be a major positive on Merseyside.

But Leicester have no intention of seeing their top scout depart King Power Stadium, especially seeing as he signed a new contract only two months ago.

Everton will now turn their attention to Jordi Cruyff according to reports.
