Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu is facing up to three months out with an abductor tear.
The 24-year-old Turkish international is set to miss a crucial part of the season for the Foxes.
He was out of the team's 1-0 loss to Aston Villa due to the injury, which he picked up while on international duty.
A scan has revealed a serious problem, and Soyuncu will now have to go through serious rehabilitation before he is fit to play.
Manager Brendan Rodgers said post-game: "The muscle is right off the bone so he could be out for three months which is an absolute shame for him and a big miss for us."
