Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is eager to sign Wigan Athletic youngster Joe Gelhardt.
The youngster is being seen as a huge prospect and is likened to England legend Wayne Rooney.
The Sun claims that Rodgers wants to beat his old team Liverpool to the punch for Gelhardt.
The player is a boyhood Reds fan, and has managed three goals in 18 games for the Championship side this season.
A former coach for the England national team, Chris Powell, compared Gelhardt to Rooney.
"He's Wayne Rooney-esque, Gelhardt," Powell told EFL on Quest in September.
"He's got a lot of talent."
