Leicester boss Rodgers 'very, very pleased' with victory over Hull

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers was pleased with their defeat of Hull City.

Rodgers was "very, very pleased" after his side beat Hull 4-0 in a pre-season friendly.

Next up are two friendlies on Saturday, with one squad going up to Preston North End and another facing Derby County at Pride Park. The squad will be split in two so that 22 players can get 90 minutes under their belts.

"I'm very, very pleased," Rodgers told LCFC TV. "Firstly, from a fitness perspective, I think you can see the speed of the team just (growing) each day and in each game. I was really pleased with how, tactically, we played in each half.

"We played two different systems and the players played the systems very well. We need that adaptability and we showed great quality. The main bulk [of the work] is just getting that physical fitness. Now, over the next few weeks, we'll start to build on our speed and strength elements, physically.

"There's lots to work on still tactically. It was a really good demonstration from both teams and I was really, really pleased to play that way against their systems – which can be difficult – but the players did very well.

"The goals were very good, with good build-up play, but everything was connected and I was really pleased with some of the tactical things we've been working on."
