Claudio Ranieri's name has reportedly appeared on a shortlist of candidates for the Italy national team job.
According to the Daily Express, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) are keen on the experienced Ranieri who has been at the forefront of Leicester City's stellar season thus far.
With current Azzurri boss Antonio Conte set to take the job at Chelsea this summer, Italian chiefs are determined to start their search early for his replacement and Ranieri is believed to be high on their agenda.
Despite being in the managerial caper since 1986, former Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Juventus, Valencia, Roma, Inter Milan and Monaco boss Ranieri has never managed Italy with his only foray into national team coaching being his ill-fated spell with Greece in 2014.
Joining Ranieri on the reported list is Inter's Roberto Mancini, Alberto Zaccheroni of Beijing Guoan and Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa.
