Leicester City manager Claude Puel has admitted that he wants to make amends in the EFL Cup after being hard done by last season.
Puel guided his former club Southampton to the final of the EFL Cup last season but the Saints lost out 3-2 against Manchester United under controversial circumstances as they had a perfectly valid goal disallowed.
The Frenchman manager is still seething because of the injustice and has now stated that he wants his current side to make amends by going all the way in the competition this season.
Puel said: "It was not a good memory. I think it was for us a fantastic final with quality. Perhaps we deserved another result at the end of course with the goal ruled out.
"We came into the game after 2-0 to 2-2 and the third goal was difficult to accept at the end. We got there with young players. The decision of the referees is always important - but quality on the pitch for us it the first priority."
