Leicester boss Puel furious with Everton bench over Morgan red card

Leicester City boss Claude Puel has hit out at Everton over the dismissal of Wes Morgan on Saturday.

The Foxes lost late on 2-1 after Morgan was sent off.

The captain had already been warned by ref Andre Marriner when he stuck a foot around Richarlison to pinch the ball from behind, but the Everton frontman screamed in pain and fell to the ground while the Toffees bench rushed to the edge of the technical area to appeal to official, who promptly showed Morgan a second yellow and resulting red card.

He will now miss two games for his second dismissal of the season.

Puel said Marriner had been influenced by the reaction and believes City would have won had Morgan not been dismissed.

“Of course the opponent tried to push the referee to take a decision," said Puel.

“From the opposition bench it is the same, to put pressure on the referee.

“We know this situation because with just a little foul all the people are crying out and they hope it will be a second yellow card.

“We can play again this game with another decision and I think it will be another result."
