Leicester boss Maresca makes clear Vardy stand

Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed his intentions around club legend Jamie Vardy.

The veteran forward will be hoping to fire the Foxes straight back to the Premier League after relegation.

Maresca knows he has a lot of work to do this summer, given the departures of Youri Tielemans, Caglar Soyuncu, and possibly James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, Wilfred Ndidi and Timothy Castagne.

When speaking with the Telegraph, he outlined his transfer plans as he looks to stamp his authority on the team.

The topic of Vardy did come up in the conversation, with Maresca saying that the veteran would be staying at Leicester.

Vardy has a year left on his contract, with the 36-year-old managing only six goals last term.
