Leicester City is confused by the actions of Roma, who they claim are unsettling Riyad Mahrez on purpose.
The Algerian has been the subject of three unsuccessful bids from the Serie A club, the latest of which was believed to be worth £32m.
Mahrez's agent has reportedly encouraged Roma to increase their bid to £40m, plus add-ons, however, they are reluctant to do so.
Sky Sports understands that Mahrez does not want to move to Italy, but instead wants to remain in the Premier League.
Despite his insistence on being sold this summer, the 26-year old is said to be content with remaining with the Foxes throughout the window if no suitable offers are received.
