Leicester City academy director Jon Rudkin is backing Tom Hopper to recover from a serious leg injury.
Hopper, who made his City debut in an FA Cup tie against Swindon in January 2012, missed the majority of last season after fracturing his shin, but he is now fit and has just signed a new two-year contract.
"Tom had to endure the other side of football last season in terms of injury, but his approach and mentality to do everything correctly will always hold him in good stead to maximise his chances in the future," Rudkin told the Leicester Mercury.
"It has been a big mental test for him but he has a very good character.
"He is very clear what his goals are and what he wants to achieve."
