Javier Aguirre has left Leganes after they were relegated on the final day of the season.
The Mexican coach nearly kept the Cucumbers up but a 2-2 draw with champions Real Madrid was not enough.
Aguirre took over in November and had seven wins, 10 draws and nine defeats.
Leganes confirmed: "The club thanks Javier Aguirre and his technical team for his professionalism and job during these months he was in charge, during a complicated situation, keeping the team alive until the last game of the season, a goal away from staying in the top flight.
"At the same time we wish him the best on a personal and professional level in his next steps."
