Leeds welcome ban for Millwall fans

Millwall fans who mocked the deaths of two Leeds United supporters who were killed in Turkey 11 years ago.

Whites supporters Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight were murdered in Istanbul on the eve of Leeds' UEFA Cup semi-final against Galatasaray in tragic circumstances.

But some Millwall fans acted disgracefully at The New Den on the weekend, waving Turkish flags and shirts at Leeds supporters. Thankfully though, those fans will be sanctioned by Millwall who labeled the action as 'unacceptable'.

Leeds assistant boss Glynn Snodin welcomed the bans for Lions supporters who were involved.

"It is a positive move (to ban the fans). No matter what the club is, Millwall or whoever, you just don't want to see that," he said.

"They kicked racism out of football. So why not this?"
