Leeds United defender Patrick Kisnorbo has spoken for the first time about his latest injury setback and how it has robbed him of a chance to go to the World Cup.
The 29-year old Melburnian was struck down with a serious Achilles injury in March, forcing him out of any Australian national team calculations and he told Leeds United TV that it was one of the worst feelings he has experienced.
"If I could come back tomorrow I would," Kisnorbo said. "It's my worst nightmare especially with the timing. It's the end of the season and it's the World Cup and it is tough watching.
"It's hard, but I have to deal with it and deal with it the best way I can."
Kisnorbo is expected to be back in action in October and says that when he returns from this latest setback, he would like to remain injury free after years of serious problems, most significantly two knee injuries that ended his career at Leicester City.
"I'd like to be running by July and the medics have said it could probably be a couple of months into the season before I'm back playing which would be around October," he added.
"I'd like to target September, but I don't want to jinx myself or tempt fate by hoping I'll be back and then not making it.
"Whenever I'm back, I want to be back for good."
