Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford hailed teammate Willy Gnonto after their 5-2 FA Cup replay win against Cardiff City.
Both attackers struck twice on the night at Elland Road.
Bamford said, : "Wilfried Gnonto is a fantastic kid. He's really humble and down to earth and that just makes all the players warm to him. He's just getting better and better with each game. Everyone with that first goal was just like "wow!"
"Very similar to Di Canio. I am old enough to remember him, I'm not sure Willie is but he will probably see a lot of comparisons on social media.
"He came in probably as a prospect for the future. It has surprised the whole club but he has been with the Italian first team for a few games now so we knew he had that potential if you like. He is showing that now on a game to game basis which is good.
On his own performance, he added: "I wouldn't say I'm fully fit because it takes a few games to get up to speed. That will take some games but in terms of how my body feels, it's a lot better now. It's on the way forward and I think it will just keep improving week on week."
