Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips has said he's "over the moon" with his England call-up.
"It's massive news for me, for my family and for the club," Phillips told Sky Sports. "I'm very happy and just grateful for the opportunity."
The 24-year-old said he add an idea last night he may be in contention for a place in the squad:
"My agent rang me and said Gareth Southgate had been in touch and wanted to speak to me, and he rang me this morning on the way into training.
"Obviously I was very nervous, I didn't know what to say. [Southgate] just mentioned that he's been tracking me for a while and that he liked the way that I played, so come and join the lads at St George's Park."
And what does Phillips make of his quick selection? "I don't think I was expected to get into the England squad this early into the season. I thought it would take quite a while, but maybe I got lucky, I don't know!"
