Roma are a very important club, it's an important step in my career. I'm very happy and I really want to help the team."

How did the deal come about?

“My agent spoke to me about Roma's interest in the last few days of the transfer market. Initially I didn't think about moving, but when the possibility of coming to Rome came up, I didn't think twice. I just had to come here and make the most of this opportunity."

You made your debut with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, what memories do you have?

“I have very good memories, especially related to learning. I had daily or in any case very frequent contact with the first team which was coached by Mourinho. I learned a lot from the players and coaching staff who always treated young players well. I have very happy memories."

What is the effect of having found him again?

“It's been a long time coming, but it feels like it happened yesterday. In football you never know who you might meet again during your career. As I said, it's an honour for me and I'm very happy to be able to work with him again."

You have played in Spain and England, what do you expect from Serie A?

“I'm here to help the team. I expect very intense football, matches in which you always have to stay focused. I think a very physical and tactical football is played here. Roma will certainly be an important stage in my career in which I will certainly be able to grow."

What are your characteristics on the pitch?

“I think the players have to adapt and follow the coach's instructions. I always thought I could play in different roles to help the team. I will play where the coach asks me to help the team and win as much as possible."

If you think of Rome and Roma, what comes to mind?

“The first thing is that it's beautiful, a spectacular city, the best place to continue playing football. Both on a sporting level and on a personal level, I think it's an important step forward for my career."

You had your first training session this morning, how did it go?

“I met my teammates and the staff. They gave me the impression that it is one big family. Everyone is trying to help me fit in. I thank you all. The sensations were very good and it will get better and better."

Roma are in the running for all goals, it's an important season.

“I think Roma are where they need to be, competing for all fronts and with excellent chances to be protagonists in all competitions. I arrive at a good time to help the team in all competitions, when the coach wants it."

Are you curious to discover the Stadio Olimpico and get to know the fans?

“I was able to see the stadium on TV, during the big matches. There is always a great atmosphere, but when I experience it from the inside I will definitely be impressed. It's one of the most iconic stadiums in Europe and I can't wait to play there."

What do you want to tell the fans?

“I'm very happy to be here, I'm ready to give my all, right from the first minute. Thank you all and I can't wait to see you at the stadium."
