Leeds chairman Radrizzani 'hopeful' of buying Sampdoria

Leeds United chairman and majority owner Andrea Radrizzani is working to buy Sampdoria.

The Italian is part of an asset management fund that is hoping to prop up the historic Italian club.

Already relegated, Sampdoria need investment if they are to avoid long-term problems.

"Let's hope, fingers crossed," he said to reporters when asked about the possibility of buying the club.

There is no indication of how this move impacts the future of Leeds United.

Radrizzani is the club's majority shareholder, but the San Francisco 49ers ownership group are hoping to take over Leeds entirely.
