Leeds board stunned by Radrizzani Elland Road plans with Sampdoria

Leeds United's board do not appear to have been given notice regarding owner Andrea Radrizzani's recent controversial actions.

Board members Paraag Marathe and Angus Kinnear were stunned to learn that Radrizzani proposed using Elland Road as collateral for a loan to buy Italian side Sampdoria.

With Radrizzani in discussions with 49 Enterprises to sell his majority stake in Leeds, The Athletic reported that he was using the club's stadium as collateral for a loan.

The source adds that board members Marathe and Kinnear did not know about this action until the news report emerged.

They were as surprised as others involved with Leeds, both in the boardroom and the fans, at Radrizzani's actions.

Elland Road Limited, which owns the ground, is 71 percent owned by Radrizzani.
