Leeds and Southampton will find it 'really difficult' in Gakpo battle

Leeds and Southampton face a battle convincing PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo about a move to England.

The Dutchman has been one of the standout players for his club this season, with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly tracking the wide man. Andrea Radrizzani revealed his desire to sign the playmaker on Twitter, but journalist Fabrizio Romano now believes it'll be tough for the Whites in January.

Speaking on his latest his latest Here We Go podcast, he said: "Now what's the situation? That Leeds are still hoping for Cody Gakpo. Southampton have been there for a long time. But from what I'm told now, the status of Cody Gakpo has completely, completely changed.

“So I think it's going to be really difficult for Leeds and Southampton to go for Cody Gakpo and now there are top clubs following him not just in Premier League."
