At the final whistle, Lecce president Giovanni Semeraro said: "Tonight we will come together for a meeting and decide what to do. I cannot deny that I am very upset and bitter about the situation, but we have to try to achieve the impossible in order to save ourselves.

"This team has what it takes to stay in Serie A. Unfortunately today's performance again proved we did not put in the necessary grit, nor did we exhibit entertaining football."
