Lazio are keen on Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
La Repubblica says Lazio have joined the race for Adebayor after being buoyed by their stellar start to the season.
The club are top of Serie A after six matches and club president Claudio Lotito is prepared to spend in January to try to keep up the pace.
Adebayor, who struggled for fitness at the start of the season, has not started a Barclays Premier League game this season - let alone score in any competition - and Carlos Tevez has been handed the centre forward role.
Lazio tried to sign Roque Santa Cruz from City in the summer and indicated they would go back for him in January, but now they have eyes on a bigger coup.
