Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao has declared he wants to play for Senegal.
The former Barcelona youth teamer also qualifies for Spain, but says he plans to commit his international future to Senegal.
He told wiwsport.com: "I talked with my family and my parents, it was not easy. I'm young, I have a future ahead of me. But now I have the choice, I'm going to play for Senegal.
"I considered everything in discussion on the scale of evaluating the pros and cons. Now that I took the time, everything is more clear.
"I was born in Spain, where I also grew up. It is normal to think about it a bit, it is not a decision to be taken so lightly.
"My family knows I like Senegal, as well as the club. I have never refused to meet the coach of Senegal."
Update:
Since the time of writing, Keita has fully committed to Senegal, amassing 21 caps. He made his debut against Niger in a 2017 African Nations Cup qualifier. Keita had his decision justified by being named in the 2018 World Cup squad by Senegal coach Alou Cisse.
The striker has since left Lazio for AS Monaco, before returning to Italy in the 2018 summer market on-loan with Inter Milan.
