Lazio president Claudio Lotito is furious over claims they could lie down against Inter Milan this week so allowing them to maintain their Serie A leadership over Roma.

Many fans have called in to the local radio stations urging their own players to lose so that it will spoil any hope the Giallorossi have of taking the title.

"This type of question offends me," slammed President Lotito when asked if he could guarantee the Biancocelesti would give their best.

"I belong to another category of people. Anyone who has doubts means they think about and put these considerations into action, whereas I never did.

"This is a country with free speech and everyone can give their opinion, even if it doesn't coincide with reality."
