Lazio striker Mattia Zaccagni was delighted to prove the matchwinner against Roma last night.
Zaccagni's penalty saw Lazio through to the Coppa Italia quarterfinals.
He later told Sportmediaset: "The emotion is indescribable, as strong as that of last year's derby . It's worth much more than just going through to the next round, it's a very important match for our fans and we're happy to have made them happy."
I tried to stay calm, concentrate and isolate myself, it went well."
Asked about the players' reaction, Zaccagni added: "The usual things, we put two tactical aspects in place but we were united. After 5-6 games we found the solidity that we had been missing for a while; and we are happy."
On new contract talks, he added: "You have to ask the president (laughs). No, joking aside, I'm very happy to wear this shirt and I would be really proud to continue being part of the team."
