The legal reps for Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu are confident of getting his drugs ban overturned.
The Romanian has been suspended since January after failing two drugs tests for sibutramine, a hunger-suppressant.
"I am optimistic," lawyer Nino D'Avirro told RAI. "Mutu did not take that herbal product in order to improve his performance.
"He had no idea that within those pills was a banned substance that would lead to his suspension.
"It also emerged that the amount of sibutramine in his tests were so low that they couldn't possibly affect performance anyway.
"We are focusing our case for the defence on the good faith of the player."
