Lampard to be named Chelsea caretaker manager

Frank Lampard is firming as caretaker manager at Chelsea to the end of the season.

Two years after his dismissal, Lampard is set to return to guide the club after Sunday's sacking of Graham Potter.

The Blues legend was seen at Stamford Bridge for Tuesday night's 0-0 draw with Liverpool.

Chelsea are 14 points outside the top four, despite having spent more than £550m on new players this season.

They travel to Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday and face Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on 12 April.

Lampard was sacked by Everton in January and had two years in charge at Chelsea between 2019 and 2021, guiding them to Champions League qualification.
