Lampard, Rooney on shortlist for vacant Everton job

Everton have put together a shortlist for their next permanent manager to replace Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard got the axe following their loss to Norwich City in the Premier League at the weekend.

Duncan Ferguson is in caretaker charge, with the BBC reporting that Everton have several names they are considering for the permanent job.

Among those are Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard, two Premier League legends.

Rooney is currently managing Derby County in the Championship, while Lampard is out of work.

Roberto Martinez, who managed Everton in the past and is currently in charge of Belgium, is also under consideration.
