Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert insists he can handle the pressure of keeping the club in the Premier League.

He accepts there is more pressure on him to keep Villa up as they are a big club and insists it does not frighten him.

Lambert said: "I think there's a touch of that because of the size of the club and the history.

"But you have to embrace it and not be frightened by it. I don't think you can hide behind that, you have to be ready for it.

"I think as time goes on it gets cranked up but it is something you have to thrive on. I do not wilt under it - I meet it head on."
