Lambert determined to bring fans back to Aston Villa

Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert has made it a mission to increase season ticket sales.

Lambert admits he's desperate to halt the club's alarming supporter slump.

Villa's average attendance has dropped every season since 2007, when they topped 40,000.

Poor spells under Gerard Houllier and Alex McLeish saw the average gate dwindle to 33,873.

Stayaway fans are costing the club millions of pounds and former Norwich boss Lambert said: "I want to fill the ground - it's realistic.

"If we start winning more games than not, then who knows?"
