LaLiga president Javier Tebas has weighed into the controversy around Barcelona defender Gerard Pique's goal celebration at Espanyol.
Tebas has confirmed a disciplinary committee will be investigating Pique's actions.
And the self-confessed Real Madrid fan also was happy to comment on the case: "There are ways to celebrate goals that maybe have to be treated differently.
"They have been done at other times, but on a few occasions they have generated a general tension. For me, celebrating a goal that generates tension should be avoided it."
On Pique's post-match comments about Espanyol "uprooting" from Barcelona and being owned by Chinese interests, Tebas added: "It was very unfortunate, the other day I said unlucky, now it's very unfortunate, I do not think it's xenophobic, the implication of a club has nothing to do with the origin of its owner, nor where it plays."
