LaLiga president Javier Tebas is delighted seeing member clubs succeed in Europe.

As Tebas says, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are all well placed in their respective quarterfinals.

He told Movistar+: "It would take a toll on all those who are the same story every year. We are not going to be competitive, this League is not competitive... well here we are.

"I like to do analysis with perspective, five or six years from now. Maybe last season wasn't very good, but last season we were champions and Villarreal was a semi-finalist, this year we can have three semi-finalists... We are very competitive although some are determined that we are not.

"The important thing for me is a global assessment and there we have shown that economically we are not number 1, because it is the Premier for many factors, but sportingly we are very competitive in Europe."
