LA Galaxy star Beckham rejects coaching role with England

LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham has ruled out joining England boss Fabio Capello's coaching staff.

With England general manager Franco Baldini's future in doubt, Capello's back-room team for the Euro 2012 campaign has yet to be confirmed.

Beckham joined Capello's England staff in South Africa after a torn Achilles kept him from playing - and he might have had an opportunity to stay in the set-up as the Italian's long-term understudy.

"David likes Fabio, he has known him for a long time and they have a very good relationship," said Beckham's business adviser Simon Fuller.

"They worked together at Real Madrid and did very well, so David respects him a lot. But he just wants to get back on the pitch. He is dreaming of playing again.

"He is so focused on getting back on the pitch that any other role genuinely wouldn't have entered his head.

"Ideally, he wants to win more international caps and he believes he is capable of doing that."
