LA Galaxy's Beckham and Arena cop MLS fines

David Beckham and Bruce Arena have both been fined and suspended by the MLS Disciplinary Committee.

Beckham has received a one-match ban and has been fined an undisclosed amount for his behaviour at the end of the Galaxy's 4-3 loss to San Jose Earthquakes on the weekend.

Whilst Quakes midfielder Sam Cronin lay on the ground in LA's penalty box, the veteran English midfielder kicked the ball at him as he waited to take a throw-in which infuriated the San Jose players, causing a fracas on the pitch.

The behaviour of Beckham was deemed unacceptable and detrimental to the League's public image and he will now serve his suspension on the weekend when LA meet Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.

Galaxy head coach Arena was also fined an undisclosed amount by the Disciplinary Committee for public criticism of the officials following the loss to San Jose.
