LA Galaxy officials are in contact with Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.

Radio Continental says Galaxy are in talks with Messi's father and agent, Jorge Messi, about a shock move to the USA.

Messi has less than 18 months to run on his current contract, which carries a break clause at the end of this season allowing him to walk away from Barca for free.

Inter Miami have been linked with the Argentine, however at home it's reported Messi Snr is in talks with Galaxy and MLS officials about a move to the USA.

Messi's future has been the subject speculation after falling out with sporting director Eric Abidal and also the club's online PR scandal.
