Los Angeles Galaxy have confirmed Landon Donovan is staying with Bayern Munich on a short-term deal until March 8. Having agreed the loan deal in November after a trial, the 26-year-old will join the Bundesliga champions immediately and will return to the USA two weeks before the MLS club begins its season.
Donovan, who started his career with Bayern's rivals Bayer Leverkusen, scored 20 goals for the Galaxy last season.
The Munich giants are joint top of the league table with Hoffenheim and resume on January 30 against Hamburg following the winter break.
Donovan joined the Bayern squad today at their mid-season training camp in Dubai.
