LA Galaxy Academy visit English club Everton

LA Galaxy's Youth Academy have made a visit to English Premier League club Everton's training ground.

Both the Galaxy U16 and 18 teams visited England on a 10-day trip to live the life of a professional footballer in the UK, taking in training sessions at Everton's Finch Farm and also watching the Toffees clash with West Ham which included USA internationals Tim Howard and Jonathan Spector up against each other.

The trip came in the wake of one of the USA's greatest players, Landon Donovan, who spent 10 weeks on loan with the club and Galaxy youth coach Matt Mullen said it was a great opportunity for the boys.

"Everton is first class environment. All our players were really excited to come here due to Landon's successful loan spell," Mullen told Everton's official website. "He did well and he spoke so highly of the environment when he came back and the boys were pretty excited to see it.

"They all took photos of Tim Howard's parking space! It's nice especially as Everton is a club where Americans have come over and done quite well, but for us to have the chance to train at a Premier League club on their facilities with members of their coaching staff at their academy - it's been great.

"Landon has the label of being the best American player in America, and arguably the best American player of all time. And for him to come and have an immediate impact on the Premier League and become the fans' choice favourite for a month - our players absolutely recognise that, and it's a great story.

"Landon has worked extremely hard on his game and I think it's probably his work rate that won him over with the Everton fans. It's a great example for our boys."
