Kruse honoured at Bayer Leverkusen move

Robbie Kruse was thrilled to be unveiled as one of three new signings by German club Bayer Leverkusen.

The 24-year old Australian winger has joined Bayer from Fortuna Dusseldorf and admits it is a pleasure to be preparing for the season ahead with last season's third-placed side in the Bundesliga.

"Obviously Bayer Leverkusen is a wonderful club, when I found out I was coming here I was really excited to come to a team that plays really attacking football," Kruse said on Wednesday.

"It's a massive step-up to a team that is playing in the Champions League so it's a massive honour for me to come here.

"I get to play with some wonderful players, hopefully I can impress and try and get better and better."

Kruse made his way to Germany with Dusseldorf from Melbourne Victory in July 2011 and last season scored four goals and provided nine assists in the top flight.
