Krueger commits to another season as Southampton chairman

Ralph Krueger will continue as Southampton chairman for at least another season.

Krueger's initial agreement with Southampton was set to expire this summer but following the fine job he has done as chairman, the 55-year old has reached an agreement with owner Katharina Libeherr to continue in his role for one more year.

Confirming the deal, Krueger said: "At the very beginning, it was really about making sure I was able to add value in my role. That had to happen, and I needed to be sure that that was happening on a regular basis, and I feel the opportunity's been there, and the second thing is personal growth – that I'm challenged and that I have growth opportunity every day, and that's without question.

"I look very much forward to leading the club through the next season. It's not a role as a coach where you actually can put any type of bookends on it. I think it's a journey that's just begun and there was no reason for me to do anything but to continue this journey right now, as we continue to grow as a club.
