Ronald Koeman claimed that he turned down the Sunderland job as he is waiting for a big club, reports the Sunday Mirror. Koeman was second in line for the vacancy before caretaker boss Ricky Sbragia eventually landed the permanent role.
Koeman said: "I have had more offers, but Sunderland was definitely one worth considering. I decided not to do it. I want to go to a big club. It is attractive to be working in the Premier League, but Sunderland would have been a really difficult job. I'd rather wait for a big club in the summer."
