Liverpool see Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat as a partner for Jude Bellingham, not as an alternative.
Relevo says the club's scouts have 'fallen in love' with Amrabat at the World Cup after casting a watchful eye over his performances.
Fiorentina are believed to be looking for £25million to £30m in order to agree to a sale meaning a transfer is very much realistic for the Reds.
As it stands, only Premier League rivals Tottenham have been credited with a firm interest in the player but that was way back in January when a loan transfer collapsed.
The report also adds that Amrabat is wanted alongside Jude Bellingham, who remains Liverpool's primary target.
Fellow World Cup star Bellingham is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund next summer when a number of huge clubs from across the continent will be battling for his signature.
Jurgen Klopp is already believed to have held meetings with Amrabat's agent in a bid to lay some groundwork for a transfer.
