Liverpool had been linked with a move for Alex Teixeira but the Brazil midfielder has become the Chinese Super League's latest high-profile recruit.

"In a lot of parts of Europe people talk about the financial power of England because of the television contract and now maybe it's another competitor," says Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

"If you're 26 and you get an offer like he got everyone would think about it. I have no problem with this, it is absolutely normal in football."
