Klopp: Liverpool not ‘100% satisfied’ after Man Utd draw

Jurgen Klopp was left to rue what might have been from Sunday's 'intense' north-west derby.

Liverpool drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Old Trafford in what was a thoroughly entertaining affair between the traditional rivals.

James Milner scored from the penalty spot after a Paul Pogba handball prior to the half-hour mark, but Jose Mourinho's Red Devils managed to force the draw thanks to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the 84th minute.

After the match, Klopp spoke of the long-ball tactics United employed to make life difficult for the Reds in what was a slightly disappointing day for Klopp.

"We needed to be brave, we created the spaces we wanted, we scored the goal," Klopp told BBC Sport.

"In the end period of the game when United started playing long balls - (to) Marouane Fellaini and Zlatan Ibrahimovic - after 80 minutes (of) high intense football, it is really hard.

"I hoped we would have a bit of luck, unfortunately not, but all good.

"Tomorrow I can enjoy the result, but tonight only the performance.

"It is so intense. They play long balls, it was a wild game. There was a lot of action in the last few minutes.

"We were here to win the game, which is why we are not 100 per cent satisfied."

The result saw Liverpool into third position on 45 points while United sit sixth, five points behind their local rivals.
