Jurgen Klopp has brushed off claims that Daniel Sturridge wants to leave Liverpool in the summer following media criticism over his fitness and desire to succeed.
The 26-year-old England striker returned to full training this week but will not be ready to take part against Sunderland on Saturday.
Questioned about the reports, Klopp said: "Who has suggested he wants to leave? I am not interested. He's looked great in training.
"Daniel had problems in the past but this is past. It would be cool to leave it there. Every player needs consistent training to be fit for Premier League football. We have tried everything we could.
"He's had two days training, today is the third. He won't play on Saturday but he could feature against West Ham on Tuesday."
"The Daniel 'story'? There is no story. You can't create stories then ask me about them. It's not frustrating, it's not interesting." he concluded.
