Klaassen admits Koeman convinced him about Everton ambition

Davy Klaassen admits Ronald Koeman sold him on Everton's ambition.

Klassen, who was a £24m buy from Dutch giants Ajax, says Koeman has lofty aims for the club.

He told the Sunday Times: "Before my conversation with him, I didn't really know what to expect, what Everton's plans were.

"Then he told me about the club, their ambitions. I thought, 'This is what I want'.

"That's important when you go to a club. You want to know what the ambition is, what kind of club it is.

“Then you get the feeling, 'OK, I can feel at home here'.

"The manager just said his ambition is to make the next step and finish higher than last season, and you can see that ambition in all the new signings.

“He wants the next step. After our conversation, I got really excited."
