Kevin Kilbane is happy playing at centre-half for Hull City.
Tigers boss Phil Brown was quick to praise the influence of the 32-year-old against Wigan and until Anthony Gardner is fully fit to return, Kilbane will be happy to continue in a defensive role.
He told the Hull Daily Mail: "I suppose the older you get, the further back you go. I've been playing as a defender for Ireland for a few years now.
"Wherever you're asked to play, you do everything you can to do a job, but it's looking more so that I'm a defender by trade. I feel as though I'm fairly calm and try not to let things get to me.
"I really don't mind it, you've got to give it your all no matter where you play."
