Agent Kia Joorabchian is pushing hard to close a deal with Corinthians for Aston Villa midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

After Flamengo, Brazilian rivals Corinthians have become the latest to show an interest in the 30-year-old ahead of the opening of the January transfer window. The midfielder is yet to make an appearance under new boss Unai Emery, as he battles to return to full fitness from a thigh injury.

As reported by Globo Esporte, Corinthians are keeping tabs with Coutinho as they look to reinforce their squad with 'quality and not quantity' players in the new year. His agent Joorabchian has not ruled out a possible return to Brazilian football, claiming there is a 'real chance.'

The report also highlights that Joorabchian will 'try his best' for the transfer to happen.
