Manchester City chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak says they're fast becoming a global brand.
After their pre-season training camp in Austria, the City squad will fly to Beijing and Kuala Lumpur for games against Arsenal and Malaysia.
The matches are designed to help prepare the players for the season ahead, which starts with the Community Shield against Chelsea at Villa Park on August 12. The location of the games, however, will reap long-term benefits, according to Khaldoon.
"Today we are a global brand," he said in City's Champions DVD.
"That wasn't the case three years ago. Today you go to the United States, Malaysia, China and Manchester City is an important club with a growing fan base.
"We have to grow globally, there's no doubt about that.
"Asia is a huge market with tremendous potential and as Premier League champions that gives us a lot of benefits."
