Kepa Arrizabalaga is happy to have signed a new deal with Athletic Bilbao.
Despite the interest of Real Madrid, Kepa has signed a deal to 2025, with a buyout clause of €80 million.
"Although there were offers for me to leave, I believe that remaining here was my best option," he explained in a statement published on Athletic Club's official website.
"I am very happy to continue playing at a club that I consider to be my home.
"I have been here almost 15 years and this is a very important moment in my career."
The 23-year-old did thank his employers for their patience.
"The negotiations have been prolonged, and those who are close to me know that I've thought a lot and analysed everything before making a decision," he continued.
"I am grateful to the club because it has respected my wishes.
"Since January 1 I have been free to negotiate with other teams, however, I am looking forward to returning to action because being the goalkeeper at this club is a privilege."
