Kepa and Mendy discuss stunning Chelsea Super Cup triumph

Chelsea shootout hero Kepa Arrizabalaga was full of pride after lifting the UEFA Super Cup.

Kepa was substituted in by manager Thomas Tuchel as the clash with Villarreal was locked at 1-1 in Belfast and heading to penalties.

In the shootout, Kepa denied Aissa Mandi and Raul Albiol to help Chelsea win the shootout 6-5.

Afterwards, he said: "It's not a typical situation. Edouard (Mendy) and the rest of the team did a fantastic job. It was a tough game against a very difficult team, but we have the medals.

"It's not a normal situation but I was ready, because I knew this could happen. I tried to be ready both physically and mentally."

Mendy also stated: "I'm happy because we won. We worked for the success. I've known that this situation could happen since the start of the year, that Kepa could come on the pitch and help the team. He did that today, and I'm really happy."
